Everywhere, extravagantly shaped granite formations—formed over thousands of years—define this magnificent landscape. In this diverse and authentic region, you’ll discover picturesque little harbors and towns rich in history and Celtic heritage.
Welcome to the Côtes d’Armor, a paradise for birdwatchers and hikers.

About the Tour

The tone for this wonderful hike is set right from the start. The picturesque beach of Tourony, with its granite cliffs and massive boulders—some jumbled, others crushed, rounded, or flattened like pancakes.

Across from it stands the Château de Costaéres, built in 1895 by a Polish engineer. Long criticized, it is now one of the symbols of the coast.

Off the coast lie the Sept-Îles, a bird sanctuary where more than 20,000 pairs of seabirds representing 27 species nest.

Nearby is the port of Ploumanac’h, where small trawlers are moored alongside tour boats and speedboats that travel to the islands.

We hike up the Traouiéros Valley along narrow paths, passing a chapel, a Calvary, typical Breton houses, hydrangeas, camellias, and rhododendrons: a riot of colors and scents.

We continue on our way, moving slightly away from the coast. At the end of a path, we see a huge white sphere ahead of us. Let’s take a closer look. It is the Phoenix mast with its radome, the telecommunications station, and right next to it, the Gallic village.

A short break at the menhir of Saint Uzec, which stands 8.10 meters tall with its sculptures and is indeed the most famous Christianized menhir in Brittany.

Back on the coast, heading toward Trégastel, past the magnificent Grève Blanche beach with its 360° view, we find the granite boulders, known here as “King Gradlon’s Crown,” and further away, those that defy the laws of gravity, such as “Le Dé.”
